Competition Structure
The competition is open to every primary school across the UK. Schools are divided up across the country into 12 different regions:
- Scotland
- North West England
- North East England
- Yorkshire and Humberside
- East Midlands
- West Midlands
- East of England
- South East England
- South West England
- London
- Wales
- Northern Ireland
Schools are encouraged to make use of the online nomination form to enter the competition and post any subsequent supporting materials including artwork, hand written stories, poems, raps, songs or DVD's etc to our address. You can submit as many online entries as you wish, therefore it is a chance to engage with your local community to support your school's efforts by submitting their own thoughts about your lollipop person as well as that of the pupils.
Once entries are closed, a winner from each of the 12 regions is selected. Members of the judging panel will then visit each of the winning schools to meet the staff and pupils and present the winning lollipop person with a regional trophy, £100 for their lollipop person and £500 for the school.
All of the regional winners then have the chance of being selected as the UK winner, collecting £3000 for the school, a further £500 for the lollipop person and a UK Lollipop Person of the Year trophy.
The competition launches on Monday 13th September with final entries to be with the competition judges by Friday 19th November
